LTL and TL Services

What are LTL (Less Than Truckload) and TL (Truckload) Services?

LTL FREIGHT is a shipping strategy that combines partial loads, even one pallet at a time, to create full multi-stop truckloads. This improves efficiency. It also creates opportunities for you to reduce your costs when we help you find the best shipping rates. Cost tends to be based on space used, the class of items being shipped and the weight and dimensions for each – Crate, Skid, Pallet or Box. As a freight broker, we sort through options of various freight companies to get you the best freight quotes. Whether you need standard, expedited, or guaranteed LTL freight shipping, we strive to be the very best TL (Truckload) or LTL (Less Than Truckload) provider that we can be!

Why are Full Truck Loads different than LTL (Less and than Truckload)? Does this option save us money?

Full truck loads can definitely save your company money if your linear space (number of pallets, weight and dimensions) are more than half of the 50-foot trailer. In many cases, a few pallets and crates of furniture longer than 100 inches can take up more than a typical LTL (Less than Truckload) space. That means sky-high pricing for your LTL carrier to pick up OR even beyond their tariff rules and they can refuse to pick up. A dedicated truck/ full truck load is also usually direct- and does not need to go from terminal to terminal to be routed.

How does The Shipping Emporium provide freight services?

The Shipping Emporium is a “Freight Transportation Broker” also known as a “Freight Forwarding Company.” We are licensed and fully experienced at sourcing the best carriers for your shipment, within the United States and some in Canada (and US Territories). At The Shipping Emporium, we can get you the very best Freight Quotes for LTL and TL services, both.

Finding a Truck for LTL and TL services can be challenging. If a lift-gate is needed, sometimes even more so. If you have loading docks and forklifts and/or pallet jacks, this can also help to reduce shipping or receiving-day stress and anxiety. Many freight customers feel that it is more convenient for the trucking company to remember to bring a lift-gate. However this is often easier said than done. Your forklift or pallet jack could be a way to reduce some of your costs for shipping freight.

We provide you with the best shipping rates by helping you consider these and many more factors, and by knowing the industry.
